Remote learning has become a common form of education in today’s digital world. To meet the needs of students, professionals, and learners worldwide, various online learning platforms have emerged in response to the rising demand for remote learning. The system utilized in AC 2.3 and AC 3.4—PPT screen recorder—is compared to two potential systems for delivering live online learning activities in the essay. Adobe Connect and Go To Meeting are the two platforms being compared.

Similarities

Like the Adobe Connect and Go-To Meeting, PPT screen recorder has a screen recording feature where the instructor is able to capture the session and make it accessible to learners without necessarily holding the live session. After the recording the video link can be generated and sent out to the learners. They all have an audio recording option as well as web-cam option where the instructor can either record themselves as they go through the live session but they can also opt to only record their Audio (Zhao & Shan, 2021).

Differences Screen Sharing

When it comes to screen sharing functionality, PPT screen recorder lacks this as it cannot record a live session. Basically it is a recording of the user’s screen as they make a live presentation to be accessed later . However Go To Meeting and Adobe Connect both have this functionality where the user can make live presentation to a live crowd and be able to share with them their screen (Caliskan et al., 2021).

Break rooms

Screen recorder PPT does not possess a break room functionality although the user can pause the recording and continue as they please. However, Go To Meeting allows for a maximum of 50 breakout rooms, whereas Adobe Connect allows for an unlimited number. Screen recorder is only advantageous in recording a session for an asynchronous learning but would be inadequate for a synchronous learning session as learners may find this constraining (Caliskan et al., 2021). Additionally, Adobe connect is more suitable for a larger group of learners compared to Go To Meeting (Caliskan et al., 2021).

Polling feature

PPT screen recorder does not allow a live interaction between the learners and the instructor therefore it lacks a polling feature. However Adobe Connect allows facilitators to design interactive polls that students can answer in real-time. This can be useful for capturing students’ attention and determining how well they comprehend the subject matter (Caliskan et al., 2021). Go To Meeting does not possess this feature, making interactive activities less suitable.

Limitations

PPT screen recording is a great tool when it comes to recording educational content to be shared and used in the future. However the tool is insufficient for a live session as unlike its counterparts Adobe and Go To meeting it fails to offer features where learners can join and take part in the learning process. However it can act as a supplement in the learning process where the instructor can educate and share the content easily through a link.
